Summertime in Western New York is lusted after all year long. It’s the time when we finally store our coats and boots in favor of bright dresses, shorts, sandals, and of course the perfect pair of sunglasses.
Outdoor festivals, restaurant patios, beaches and pools are bustling with activity, and prevail over anything going on indoors. I am no different than anyone else. I long for the days I can read outside and have dinner parties on my patio; however, as Head Buyer for Tony Walker & Company, I am currently spending my days looking at what will be in store for Holiday 2012 and Spring 2013.
Fashion buyers always look at product that will arrive in stores several months ahead. I have my dream job, but this in particular is my favorite part. Going from one brand’s showroom to the next always looking for a common theme, common color or body style between them. It’s like a fantastic mystery unfolding itself, the trends of the upcoming season.
